Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
AyaWaken (Ayawaken, Inc., a registered Texas nonprofit church) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways:
- Information you give us directly. When you send a message through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you choose to share it), and your message. When you complete the intake application, we collect the information the application asks for: your contact details, date of birth, address, occupation, emergency contact, your intentions for ceremony, and health-related information including medical history, current medications, mental health history, allergies, and lifestyle questions.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to understand how the site is used and to measure the effectiveness of our outreach. See section 4 for the specific tools we use.
- Information you share by phone. If you call us or join a discovery call, we may keep notes of the conversation so we can care for you well through the intake process.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Review your intake application and assess whether ceremony is appropriate and safe for you
- Communicate with you about your application, your discovery call, and your ceremony weekend
- Prepare you for ceremony, including sending preparation and dietary guidance
- Respond to messages you send us
- Understand how our website is used and improve it
- Measure whether our outreach is reaching the people who are looking for us
We do not use your intake information for marketing, and we never sell personal information to anyone.
3. Sensitive Information
The intake application asks about your medical history, current medications, mental health history, and personal circumstances. We ask because your safety depends on honest answers, and for no other reason.
This information is held in confidence and is reviewed only by those responsible for participant screening and care. It is used solely to assess suitability for ceremony and to keep you safe during your weekend. It is never sold, never shared for marketing or advertising purposes, and never disclosed to third parties except the service providers who store it on our behalf (section 5) or where the law requires it.
4. Cookies & Analytics
This website uses the following measurement tools:
- Google Analytics - helps us understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, time on site, general location at city level). This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally to us.
- Google Ads conversion measurement - tells us when a visit that began from one of our announcements leads to a completed intake application or a phone call, so we can be good stewards of the church's outreach resources. It does not give us access to your intake answers.
These tools use cookies. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on. The website works without cookies; declining them only affects our measurement, not your experience.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf, such as our website hosting provider and the form service that receives and stores intake submissions. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Legal requirements - if we are required by law, court order, or valid legal process to disclose information, we will do so only to the extent required.
6. Retention & Your Choices
We keep intake applications and related records for as long as needed to review your application, care for you through ceremony and integration, and maintain the church's participation records, and for a reasonable period afterward. Applications that do not lead to participation are kept only as long as needed to complete the review and any follow-up conversation, then deleted in the normal course.
You may at any time ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete your information
To make any of these requests, call us at (940) 977-4795 or ask us by phone how to send a written request to the church. We will honor deletion requests unless we are required to retain the information by law.
7. Contact
Questions about this policy or about your information can be directed to us by phone at (940) 977-4795. Written correspondence can be arranged by phone with Ayawaken, Inc., a registered Texas nonprofit church.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
